Simple Christmas Card - Assembly Style

Are you looking for a quick and simple design for your Christmas cards this year?  As of today, there are only 34 more days until Christmas.  Now that the panic is setting in, I wanted to show you a quick and easy design you can do in assembly style and the process moves quickly.  Before you know it, your Holiday cards will be complete and that task you will be able to check off your list of things to do.

Look at the detail in the embossing and in the distressing.  So pretty...

For this card I used the following products:

Embossing template – Cuttlebug, Lace Tree

Embossing folder

Gold Organza Ribbon
Warm Holiday Wishes stamp comes from Close to my Heart

It looks as though the Cuttlebug Lace Tree is no longer available to purchase, except for on EBay.  So I included a couple of other embossing folders that would look elegant and rustic in the same card format.

This card turned out very rustic yet elegant.  I really like how this card turned out.  You could easily change up the colors of cardstock you use to give it a different feel. I can’t wait to see what you come up with and hope you come back and post your designs.

Good luck in getting your Christmas Cards in the mail this year.  I will post my actual Christmas Card design that I am mailing out to people on my list, after the holidays.
Until next time….

Bright and Cheery Birthday

Hi all,

Back again with a simple and easy designed birthday card.  This card would mainly be for females based on the color scheme used.

To create this card I used the following items:
Cardstock (Bright Yellow)
Cardstock (Bright Pink)
Textured Impressions (Elegant Bouquet #115964) embossing folder
“Birthday Wishes” stamp by Gina K Designs
Stickles
Organza ribbon in bright pink

I tried to capture the detail of the embossing and the daintiness of the stickles that I applied to each flower on the embossing plate. the design is simple, yet feminine and pretty.

This card is versatile and just by changing the color scheme can cause this card to look very differently. I chose a bright sunny yellow and a bright hot pink.  I thought the two colors together looked elegant and pretty.
I would love to see the creations that you create using this layout and design as inspiration.

Card can be purchased here on my Etsy shop:  MyDestashShop
Enjoy your day…

Julie.

Perfect Earrings for Fall

Took a little time to work on some new earrings.  I thought these would be perfect for the fall weather that we should be having.  Currently here in California we are under a heat wave, high 90’s so it is hard to believe that it is so close to the start of the holiday seasons.  I am looking forward to some fall weather.  The weather person on the news promises this will start next week, my fingers are crossed.

These earrings have a gold tone etched leaf charms on gold-tone fishhook earring wires.  There is an opaque milky white bead followed by an orangeish/yellow oblong type glass bead, then the etched gold leaf charm.

They measures about 2 1/2 inches long.  Perfect amount of sparkle and glimmer.  Great for day wear or night wear.

A Little Puzzling

Welcome back to Creations by Julie...

I know its been a long while since I have posted anything here.  We went through a major change in life and I feel like it is time that I get back to the things that I held so dear and the things that brought so much joy and calmness to my life.

I thought I would start small with something that I dabbled in.  I picked up an inexpensive puzzle that had larger pieces at a yard sale.  I thought these would make cute scrapbook page decorations.

The first think I did was covered the puzzle piece with pretty paper.  I only decorated one side as with my idea of it being a scrapbook decoration, the other side would be stuck to the page.

Next, I used soft sandpaper to even out the rounded edges of the puzzle piece.  I added the word Cherish and the small flower using rub-on's .  I tied a pretty satin pink ribbon to finish it off.

Here is the finished product:

Thank you for visiting.  Off to create some more items, stay tuned for more postings.
