Can you believe that the holiday season is already among us? 1 week from today is Thanksgiving....wow....that is all I can say.

I created this card for 1 challenges today. I love this color combination or a rosey pink and gold. I think it is just beautiful together.

Clowning Around

Hi all,

I was playing around with this digi stamp that I picked up awhile ago. I colored this one day while on vacation actually. We were in San Diego and in the evening while we are just hanging out at the hotel ususally watching tv at that point, I pull out some images and start coloring until I get sleepy. I pulled out this one and loved all the purple. I thought it turned out really pretty. I finally sat down to create a card with it. Here is what I came up with....

I added lots of Stickles to make it sparkle and I think that made the card.

Hi all,
I saw the preview to the Snow White based movie called Mirror, Mirror, I can't wait to see that. It looks sooooo good. Julia Roberts plays the bad witch. Has anyone else seen the previews? What do you think?
Anyways, a good way to kick off the "Fairy Tale" theme of this card. I chose this cute little frog just waiting to be kissed by his princess..... the sentiment says "Once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes everything". I thought it was kind of fitting since the frog is waiting for his princess to kiss him to become a Prince.

Hi all,
The holidays are coming so fast. Are you starting to get your Christmas cards and shopping done? I am not, I figure this year I will be pretty far behind and stressed, lol. Oh, isn't that every year????
I made this card for the Wags 'n Whiskers challenge. The challenge is Black with ribbons or pearls.
On the inside of the card it says "All I want for Christmas". I love this Santa stamp....

Fall Inspired "Home" Embellishment

Hi all,

I was inspired by all the "Fall" colors and festivities going on around town. This is a new town for us and we ran into a temporary outdoor ice skating rink set up at the mall. It will be there until Feb. I thought that was the coolest thing....they never did anything like that in Arizona.....

Anyway, I put together this nice little fall scrapbook embellishment or it could be a card topper. With a simple title of "Home". I think this would look awesome on a scrapbook page for a new home.

Kraft & Red

Hi all,
I created this card for the Free For All Challenge over at Gina K. The challenge is to use Kraft and Red. I did add a cream color to the mix as well, as I needed an offsetting color and since the card base is cream, I went with that.
I used the sketch that was over at IC Sketches Challenge blog as inspiration.
The image is from Graphique. I love their images and you can size them to use on just about anything.
Anyways, here is my card....

Second card finished today...

Hi all,

This is the second of 2 post today. I was able to finish up this simple but elegant and fabulous card. I have entered it into 3 challenges.

The first challenge is Lexi's Creations Challenges. The challenge is "Pink". I love most pink color combinations, so this one was an easy one to work with.

The next challenge is over on Pink Gems. The challenge is "Christmas with heart". I thought this snowman with a heart on its chest was perfect for the challenge.

The next challenge is over on Secret Crafter. The challenge is "Anything but Sparkly". I added a gem to the single snowflake but that was not enough, so I added the additional splash of gems along the bottom. I think it turned out so elegant and classy. Oh, and adorable for the snowman, lol....

It's been another one of those days...I have had some time after I finished my school work to finish up one card I was working on and complete another one.

The first card that I finished up was this cute little Magnolia card. I was able to enter this card into several challenges. Here is the list:

First challenge is on the Magnolia lovers challenge blog. The challenges is distressed. All the edges are distressed on the cardstock, I even inked the doiley.

I hope you enjoy this card. I was really impressed, this is the first time that I worked with the doiley's. I loved the look they give the card. I found a dealer on Ebay that is international and I bought the doiley's on Friday and had them in my mail box yesterday, wow, that was great, perfect timing to use on this card.

Another day...another challenge...

Hi everyone,

I was able to get to only one card today. I do have one started but not finished. Hopefully that one will be finished tomorrow....fingers are crossed...

Anyways, I found this (new to me) graphics company on Etsy. Their name is Graphique. You can find their Etsy shop here. They have some very cool graphics that you can resize to fit a card. I bought a few and got to play with one today.....here is my card with the new image....

It is a And they lived Happily Ever After image of a castle. I paired it up with black and silver script paper with some shiney silver cardstock and ribbon, added 2 glittery chipboard swirls. On the image itself, I just wanted a little light color and maybe some sparkle so I used the sparkly chalk. I was going to spritz it with the glittery spritz but since the move I have not been able to find that. Funny, I think I am all unpacked with my supplies....I will look again tomorrow for that.... I entered this card into two challenges.

The first challenge is over at Sketch and Stash. Tha challenge is a "Sketch".

The next challenge is over at ABC Challenge Blog. This is their first challenge since they re-opened. The challenge is "Anything Goes".

I added ink to the image before I found the patterned paper, then realized it might be a bit hard to locate paper to match.....then I found this one and it matches perfectly (wiping the sweat off my brow....lol).

Falling Squirrel

All mothers can relate to this story on some level:

Today I was sitting at my computer working on my homework and noticed out the window that the momma squirrel and 2 babies were out in the tree. Who knew that we had 2 babies in that tree??? I knew there was one from the previous story about seeing them in the tree. Anyway, it apeared that the momma squirrel was trying to get the babies down to the ground. Mind you we live on the side of a hill, so the ground under the tree is actually further down than the trunk of the tree. So, I am watching and I see the momma squirrel grab one of the babies in its mouth (kind of like a cat grabs its baby), she quickly whisked it down the tree and they were gone. Well, this left the other baby unattended in the tree, it quickly notices that mom is gone and tries to follow. It manages to jump to the next tree, they are still not very sure footed, so you can see it slip from the branch, catch itself, slip from the branch.

Then all of a sudden........it slips and falls to the ground. My motherly panic sets in because after all it is a baby and it just fell out of a tree that is situated on the side of a hill..... We all race outside on the deck to see if we can see if it is OK....nope, it is no where to be seen....so then we proceed down the hill to see if we can see it....then all of a sudden as we get near the tree trunk...it tries to get on the tree trunk to hide from us....so we decide to leave it alone as it was acting scared (wouldn't you if you just fell out of a tree?).

A few minutes later I spot it half way up the tree, and hear the noise that they make. A few minutes after hearing that I see momma squirrel in the tree consoling the baby. Then they are both headed down the tree, I am guessing towards where ever she took the first baby....Thank goodness....tragedy averted for this little guy.....

They are really cute to watch jumping and playing in the tree, I would hate to see something like that happen to the little guy....Another day in the wilderness....

A card for today....

Hi everyone....

I have a card to share with you today. This one is in honor of my daughter returning to school today. It sure is quiet around the house without her. I truely enjoyed having her home this summer with me. She is at a new school this year and went to school this morning pretty nervous. She has said that everyone seems really nice.....I sure hope she adapts to her new surroundings this school year. Keep your fingers crossed....
Anyway, on to the card challenge....

This one is for 2 challenges:

The first one is over at One Stop Craft Challenge. The challenge is "Back to School/Primary Colors".

The next one is for Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge. The challenge is "Primary Colors".

I colored this image with General's Pastel Pencils, found this cute sheet of alpha/numeric paper blocks in primary colors, added some shimmery red ribbon and a little stamp from Verve that says "Thanks". I think it all came together pretty well.

Challenge Card

Hi everyone,
One more challenge card for today. I made this after the excitement out my window. This evening I looked out just in time to see a hawk going after one of the squirrels that live in the tree out back. Well, I had to step in, so we all went out side to make some noise so the squirrel could get back into his home in the tree with out getting carried away by the hawk. Well, as far as I know we were successful in diverting the hawk, it turned dark so I can't be for certain, but I did not hear any noises coming from the squirrel, so I hope she is ok.

Anyways, after that, I got busy making this card. It is for 3 challenges and it is so sweet and innocent looking....Gotta love it....

Holiday Challenges

A perfect way to end the day.....

Hi all,
I wanted to share a little story about how I spent the later part of the day today. It was a perfect way to end the day. Unfortunately there are no pictures to share with this story, just my recap.
So I am sitting in front of the computer late this afternoon finishing up homework from my Security and Fraud Prevention class I am taking ( I know that sounds like fun, right?). Anyway, I hear this squawking noise outside ( I sit in front of an arcadia door). So I start looking and I see the branches of the tree moving......I continue to watch and see that there are 2 squirrels in the tree.
As I am watching it continued to look like a mama squirrel and a baby squirrel. It looked like she was trying to teach it how to jump from branch to branch. The poor baby looked scared as it kept trying but would get on a branch that was not as sturdy....then it would make its way back to the tree trunk.
I wasn't able to watch it make it back home (that is in the next tree over) as I had to get dinner ready for the family. When I returned to my computer I saw mama squirrel racing back home with a mouth full of leaves.
It was so refreshing and cute to watch. I hope you all enjoyed my little story.

Something Altered

Hi all,

I am not sure why I took a liking to everything Paris themed or Eiffel tower themed but I have. I have not even been there before. I keep telling myself maybe someday....

But in the meantime, I decided to create an altered composition book in a Paris theme....

I have included it in the challenge over at Cupcake Craft challenge. The challenge is to alter something.

So, I distressed the paper with the Eiffel Tower image on it. Added it to some vintage looking blue patterened paper, distressed that a little more than it was, added some satin brown ribbon and this is how it turned out. I really like it, it has a vintage feel to me.....

Penny Black Challenge

Hi all,
I only got to one challenge today....it was a laundry day here at home.
I made this card using the cute little Penny Black Hedgehog. I just love this little guy....I guess it is a gal since the card is made in all pink, oops!....
I made the card for 3 challenges:
The first challenge is for Penny Black Saturday Challenges. The challenge is "Penny Black/Ground". What does that mean? It means you need to use a Penny Black stamp as the background. I used a small Penny Black flower to create the background design paper.
The next challenge is for Cute Card Thursday. The challenge is to not use any designer paper. I thought this one would work fine....
The last challenge is for The Secret Crafter. The challenge over there is "Monochromatics.".
So here is the adorable hedgehog...

Sweet little Baby....

We all know the baby verse...."Rock a bye baby on the tree top".... I chose this cute little Karen Foster stamp to be the center piece for this card creation.

I used lots of pastel pink and soft colors for such a small bundle of joy.

Simple Elegance

Here is the next card created for challenges.

The card is made as a monochromatic card in different shades of gold. The hummingbird image is from Tim Holtz. the Ghandi saying is from a stamp set I picked up. I had seen the saying about a week before and liked it, then I found the stamp set online, so I had to purchase it. It is from RubberSoul.com
I am entering this card into 2 challenges.

Chihuahua cuteness???

Here is the second card I finished up for challenges. I found this digi stamp at Mo's Digital Pencil awhile ago and have had him colored and waiting for the perfect opportunity to use him on a card.

I am using the Chihuahua in 3 different challenges.

Hi everyone....hope you all are doing well. I am enjoying this fabulous weather in Southern California. Especially since I know that in Phoenix where we just moved from it is hot and muggy....

I am working on challenges again today and I have a few that I will be posting throughout the day.

here is the first one.

This card is using a digital stamp from Instyle Stamps. I thought it was a perfect stamp to use for some Summer fun...

The first challenge I used it in is over at Pink Elephant. The challenge is "Fun in the Sun".

I thought this little Hula girl meets the criteria for summer fun....

Only one challenge today...

Hi all,
I only was able to complete one challenge today.
My daughter and I went out looking for a yellow throw pillow for her bed. It has been a challenge to locate one but that wasn't $30 plus dollars but we were successful today. She just recently changed her room and she chose Navy Blue, Bright Pink and Bright yellow as her colors. Let me tell you it is really hard to find a Navy comforter that isn't plain and then the yellow pillow. I found bright pink sheets though....
Anyways, onto the challenge.
I made this card for the challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers. I did some ink distressing with various shades of pink and purple to match the paper, then made the butterfly stand out by coloring it a brighter shade of pink and putting Stickles all over it. I love how this card turned out. This is one of my favorite stamps. It is a one stamp collage.

High Class Fashionista

Hi all,

This is one of the coolest images that I found. I had to have it....works so well with a bling and glittery back ground. Such a classy image.

I used this image for 2 challenges.

The first challenge is over at Our Creative Corner. The challenge is "All the B's" (Black, Bling, Buttons and Bows).

Just thought I would share another card that I made for 3 challenges. It is nice and warm here in sunny southern California....what else would you think of but snow, lol.....
I made this card for a few of challenges.

Hi all,

This is the last challenge card I plan on posting today. I will be working on more cards this evening though. I have to stop and order some pictures of by neice's new baby so I can work on a paper bag scrapbook for her. She is a first time mom and is so excited. Both are doing well. He was a premie but has already doubled his weight.

Anyways, the card I have is for 2 challenges.

The second challenge is over at Lil Red Wagon. The challenge is to use "Music Notes". When I saw this challenge I had to dig out this stamp. It makes such an elegant and pretty card.

It has been along time since I have had a day that I could just putz around and make cards all day. I decided to focus and work on some challenges. This card is for 2 challenges.

First challenge is over at Mojo Monday. The challenge is the sketch. I really like this sketch and can see me using it more in the future.

The second challenge is over at Stamp Something. The challenge is "Something Embellished".

I really like how this card came out. I think it would be a great way to ask your friends if they would be your bridesmaids. It could also make a cute Bridal Shower card. What do you think?

I told you I was working on some challenges this week and here is another one. This one is for the Cupcake Craft Challenge. The challenge is to make something with the theme "Wish Upon a Star". I chose to make a bookmarker. I bought a stamp set with the saying on it and added some little stars in the background and a larger star (or half star) in the forefront. All in yellow, black and gray. This is turning out to be one of my favorite color schemes recently. Very bright and classic.

Time to Play in some challenges

HI all,

I know it has been along time but I have been pretty busy the last couple of months. We just completed an out of state move and I finally have some time to play with all the goodies I found when I packed up and sorted through my craft space. I finally have my new craft space unpacked and was able to make some cards for a few challenges, since I am not working now. I am looking but I am being pretty picky right now, which gives me time to play....lol....

Anyways, here is what I made for the challenge over at Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges. The challenges is "Anything Goes". Well that made it easy. I have this stamp set and before the move could not wait to create a Paris collage with it. I found this paper during the move and thought it would be perfect for the design....

Hope you like it....I am really on a Paris kick lately. I love all of the Eiffel tower items available....So much fun....

Especially if you are lucky enough to have an April birthday. My daughter is one of those girls. She will be sweet 16 this month and just loves her birthstone. I thought I would add some information and fun facts about the beautiful precious stone for April's birthstone. The first diamonds were found in 800 BC in India. They are mainly found in these countries: the USA, Australia, Russia, Ghana, Brazil and Zaire. The word diamond comes from the Greek word "adamas". This means hardest metal. It is the hardest substance known. Diamonds can cut every known substance although cannot be cut or scratched itself. Diamonds are known for their Metaphysical properties such as clarity, abundance and balance. They are also known for their healing properties for brain diseases, pituitary glands. They are also associated with enhancing relationships and increasing inner strength. Just thought I would pass on a few facts and information on what is known to be "A girl's best friend". Things that go bump in the night....

HI All,

So one night we took out 8 pound Chihuahua out to do his business before bed. Since we moved into this house we always go outside with him as there are mysterious creatures that come out at night, some that might like him for dinner....

"SCAMPER"

Well, this one night, we open the door and he tears outside, heads for the corner barking....

Then we see it....Scooby Doo Eyes.....

What are these glowing eyes before us? We grabbed the chihuahua and headed back inside before he was someone's dinner....Grabbed a flash light (and the camera) lol....

This is the picture I was able to snap....

Seems that a family of racoons like out bush with berries on it. They have come back several times since this night. It is a family of 5, although only 4 were curious enough to look at the camera ( I think they heard the paparazzi was near by, lol...).
Who knew that there would be racoons, in the desert? I would have never suspected....

HI all,

Here is another card that I made for a friend of mine. She retired just over a year ago and moved out of state. I sent her this card and a few stamped images of stamps that I bought. We do that every so often. I thought that might brighten her day....

For this card, I used all kinds of things on that stamped image. It was fun and a very creative outlet for me....I was amazed at how pretty that card was....

I used Taffy Smooch (love this stuff, can't wait to get more colors), Folk Craft Extreme Glitter acrylic paint (first time for this, I used this on the circle part), it turned out nice, Brush pens for hte bird and leaves, Distressed ink in aged mahogany and victorian velvet on the outside where the words are. Isn't it pretty? One of my favorites in along time....

Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz

Hi all,

Try to say that 10 time really fast...kind of like "rubber baby buggie bumpers" ....

I used the spritz for the first time. I bought it a few months ago with a coupon at Hobby Lobby and decided "Finally" to use it. I was making a wedding card for a friend of mine and had punched out some Martha Stewart butterflies. I was just going to use Stickles on it, but then I spotted it. I thought, Hmmm, I should try that on the butterflies.....

Wow, what a difference it made....I am so please with the way this card turned out for my friend. I tried to capture the shimmer on the butterflies in the second picture. Let me know if you have tried this product?

So pretty....I am so pleased how this card came out.....hope you enjoy it to...

here are some additional things I have been working on. There will be a small craft fair that I will be participating in at the beginning of December where I work, so I am trying to get some things done to sell there.

This necklace is my daughters idea in the naming "Head in the clouds" necklace. I have a silver tone one posted in my Etsy shop here.
Isn't that just the cutest title? If you are interested in the necklace but would prefer the gold one, just send me a convo within Etsy and I can set up a custom listing for you. This necklace is listed for sale here...
This one is one of my favorites. I liked it so much that I had to make me one. I haven't even listed this one yet, so again you would have to convo me if you were interested.

Here is another request from someone on Etsy. It was for a custom bookmarker with a Harry Potter/Spider theme and the quote is from Harry Potter. I really like how it turned out. Dramatic....

Just thought I would drop a quick line and let you know that I haven't really fallen off the face of the earth, lol....

I actually decided to go back to school and finish up my degree...I have a ways to go but this program is really structured and I feel confident I can get it done this time. I am already at the end of my second class and I am maintaining a 4.0 gpa....Yeah!

Anyways, here are a few things I have been working on in between work, school and well, Life:

How about some cute little Halloween cupcake toppers to start things off with? These are actually buffet markers. The buyer is going to hand write the name of the dish on each of these for her Halloween party....I think these turned out adorable. You can view the listing here.....

Newest Jewelry Creation

I have been busy creating like crazy and I have lots of things to share with you in the next few days....
But I had to share this with you...I was so excited about how it turned out...I think it is so pretty...
This bracelet was something I had been kind of piecing together for a couple of weeks, trying to figure out how I could incorporate lace into a design. Let me tell you it helps to go out and look at the lace, because I think I found the perfect piece...

Instyle Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone....and welcome to another Instyle Stamps sketch challenge...

I used the Instyle Stamps Angelfish for my design team card. You can find the Angelfish here. I put Liquid Glass all over the angelfish after I colored him to make him look glossy and shiny. The background paper reminded me of bubbles....plus it was blue, like water.

This month's theme is St Patricks Day, I was thinking it was Spring, when I picked out my mushrooms and finished my project....I will be going back to redo this one later....

Instyle Stamps Retro Sneak Peek & a challenge

Hi all,

I am catching up today with my design team cards....I got behind because of the varsity basketball playoffs last week. I still feel like I am trying to catch up with everything....Hopefully this week end...

Anyway, here is the Instyle Stamps Sneak Peek for their retro and whimsy images. I got to play with this cute little frog. I found this sentiment in my Close to my Heart stash and thought it would be perfect for this little frog with hearts on the lily pad.

To create this card, I also used the sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You I really thought the sketch was a great one for this image... The paper is new paper (Penny Lane, Leaves of Love) from the new Hobby Lobby that just opened up by my house (Yeh! for me)....gotta go back there when I have more time to browse (minus the hubby and daughter, lol)....

I also entered it into the challenged over at My Time to Craft Challenge blog. The challenge over there is to use green plus one color (brown).

Instyle Anime Sneak Peak

Hi all,

Better late than never....we were so busy getting wrapped up with the basketball season, I almost forgot to post my Anime sneak peak....

I got to play with "Drea". She was so fun to color and make into a card....a very simple and easy one to complete... I always try to match the colors of my image with the paper as well. I found this fun nature inspired paper and drew the colors out of that for the image. I just love these colors.....

Instyle Stamps Color Challenge

Hi all,

I haven't been around much lately....we have been busy with our State Varsity Basketball Tournament. My Daughters team (their first year having a Varsity team) made it to the State Championships. Friday night they advanced to the final 8 teams in their division....We are so proud of our team....

Needless to say, it's been a little distracting and busy around here....

Here is my card for the Instyle stamps color challenge this week....

I used the Sunflower digi stamp....didn't it turn out cute...I just love this paper that I picked up at JoAnn's....

Precious New Baby Card

Hi all,

I was asked by a co-worker to make a pretty new baby girl card for a friend of hers who just had a baby girl. The baby is Norweigen, so she wanted it to say "Velkommen" instead of "Welcome".
I entered this card into the following challenges:
Penny B Friends Saturday Challenges: the challenge is for "Someone Special" (all babies are special) the stamp is a Penny Black Stamp.
Digital Ink Co Challenge: the challenge is "Pets and Baby Birthdays"
One Stop Craft Challenge: the challenge is "Make it personal".

I just love how this card came out, so soft and pretty....Hope you agree....
It is very clear to me now, that this little hedgehog stamp was a very good buy. I have already made, hmmm.... I think about 3 cards with it....It is such an awesome stamp.

Hi all...Happy Hump Day!

I made this cute little baby card, using the Penny Black baby in a hammock stamp the I bought. This one is blue, maybe for a boy, although all those polka dots.....it could be for a boy or girl...
I made this card using 2 challenges:
First one is for the sketch, Friday Sketchers,
The other one, the challenge at Stamp Challenges and is to use "Blue and White". I immediately thought of this embossed designer paper. It is very pretty and elegant.

Hi all,

Another cold and wet, rainy day here in AZ.....
A great day to craft....I finished up this card tonight and thought I would share....

I used a Penny Black stamp-this cute little musical cat....Isn't he cute?

I was able to incorporate this card into 3 challenges.....Here they are:
First one, Card Positioning Systems, the challenge was the sketch;
Next one, The Secret Crafter, the challenge is "Musical";
the last one, Charisma Cardz, the challenge is "something new"...(the stamp is new)

Here is the card:
I thought the silver and black in the paper looked perfect for the image, then I remembered I had those cute little music note brads....I thought that just finished it off perfectly....

Hope you all had a great Monday.....it was kind of rainy and cold here.....kind of a nice change. We are always warm and sunny here in AZ.....

I made this cute little Chihuahua card using a few challenges to help me put it together.....

Next one: Lily of the Valley, this challenge was for a "Thank you" card...well, mine is Muchas Gracias, close enough....
